Choice and concentration are the forces that made Bosung today. In 1978, Bosung started as a professional construction company focusing on environment-related facilities. Even in the 1970s, when everyone was only pursuing development and growth, Bosung took the first step in environmental business because it saw business and social contribution as one. In 1989, we changed the name to Bosung Construction Co., Ltd., and became a general construction company and walked along with the growth of the domestic construction industry.
Growth as a General Construction Company
By acquiring Hanyang Co., Ltd. in 2004, we entered the housing market and launched Sujain, a housing business brand. In addition to civil engineering, the company is firmly supported by construction, housing, and plant businesses, which not only built competitiveness to flexibly respond to the rapidly changing construction industry but also set the stage for growth as a general construction company. With the business capabilities of Bosung Construction, which was the No. 1 open bidding company in the 2000s, and Hanyang's excellent performance that led the domestic construction market in the past, Hanyang regained its status as a top-quality construction brand and has maintained the top 20 in construction capacity evaluation since 2012. Hanyang, which has led construction for years, will be reborn as a housing development company that maximizes development capabilities to enhance the value of space and create a properous life in the future.
Presenting a New Direction for the Real Estate Industry
In 2010, Bosung Construction was divided into Bosung Co., Ltd. and Bosung Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. and established a holding company system to change into group management. And beyond the construction industry, we are carrying out various projects such as development of future cities and leisure tourism. Bosung Group entered the leisure industry by opening Pine Hills Country Club in 2004 and Pine Beach Golf Links in 2010. In 2007, the company established the Southwest Coast Enterprise City Development Co., Ltd., a special purpose company (SPC) in Haenam, Jeollanam-do, and has been speeding up the construction of an eco-friendly future civilization city that has not existed since the approval of the implementation plan in 2012. The holding company Bosung entered the general real estate development market in late 2012 by establishing Bosung Co., Ltd. and diving its construction division. Bosung industry has achieved continuous growth with differentiated strategies and strong executive ability in various real estate development areas such as housing, commerce, business, and leisure.
Towards Becoming a Global Energy Company
In 2015, 'energy business' was designated as the group's new growth engine business and is expanding its scope. Hanyang Energy Division uses "2030 Energy Leading Company" as its business vision, and is promoting renewable energy generation projects such as solar and biomass, LNG terminals and related projects. On the 420,000 pyeong site in Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, we completed the construction of the largest PV in Korea (98MW) and the world's largest ESS (306MWh) and started commercial operation in March 2020. Also, Hanyang is promoting biomass development project with 220MW of facilities in Hwanggeum Industrial Complex in Gwangyang City. It will start construction of power plant in the second half of 2020 and will be completed in June 2023. In addition, the company plans to build four 200,000 kiloliters of LNG storage tanks in the Myodo area of Yeosu, Jeollanam-do, and expand them to a total of 12 units by 2023, aiming to become the LNG Hub terminal representing Northeast Asia. Bosung has always walked forward with confident steps. Bosung will continue their challenge to make the infinite power of nature as useful energy.
